1.0 out of 5 stars Just a glorified picture book 8 Aug 2013
Format:Hardcover
expected this to be a detailed technical guide after seeing the cut-away on the cover , like the B-52 in the series - but was majorly disappointed as it has mostly a bunch of good colour photos - the only techincal drawings of any depth are on the engines and ejection seats - the rest are supercial info which can be gleaned from any similar book or magazine

haynes had set a high quality of technical expectation - sadly this work is very premature as most of the details seem to be classified

I almost passed this over, since the cover suggests a rather dry and geeky manual. Instead, this is richly illustrated account of all aspects of Typhoon operation in the RAF. Obviously being a current type, a lot of detailed technical information is not publicly available, hence nerds and spotters who get off on wiring diagrams and tables of figures might be a little disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Manufacturer's publicity 7 July 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Many of the titles in the Haynes series are illuminating, with good photographic coverage of systems and structure. Unfortunately, as is commonplace with studies of extant aircraft types, it's largely a love letter to the subject. Worth a read, but not as good as some other books in the series.
