R. Scott McCoy was born in Kodiak Alaska, while his father was serving in the Coast Guard. He was raised in his parents hoe state of Minnesota, spending his school years in Bemidji, where he graduated in 1984. Scott joined the Army after graduation serving 5 years on active duty and 11 years in the Reserve, where he worked as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, an Interrogator/Russian Linguist and a Psychological Operations Specialist. Scott lives near the Twin Cities with his wife and two daughters and works in converged security, which combines physical, corporate and IT security. He has had over twenty short stories published in a variety of magazines and anthologies. Feast, from Shroud Publishing is his first novel. The White Faced Bear, his second novel is due out from Belfire Press in October, 2010. Scott is also the Publisher and Editor of Necrotic Tissue, a quarterly print horror magazine and it's parent company, Stygian Publications, LLC.
