"Reckoning - Some superb tracks, notably the first four but some lesser tracks follow. Still, "Harborcoat", "7 Chinese Bros" and "(Dont Go Back To) Rockville" are classics though. 7.5/10"
"Fables - Slightly murky and creepy set of tracks. Perhaps less immediate than the previous two but unfolds over time. "Feeling Gravity's Pull" a stunning intro. 8/10"
"Lifes Rich Paegent - Strong collection of songs shows the band were growing further. Contains the muscular "Begin the Begin" another fantastic album opener and a number of other early classics. 8/10"
"Automatic for The People - Absolute classic. Artistic highpoint of R.E.M. career so far. A must for any music collection. Contains "Everybody Hurts". 10/10"
"UP - A classic . An slow burner but fairly magical - full of changing musical textures moods. Best absorbed as a late night headphone album. "Hope", "At My Most..." Walk Unafraid" "Daysleeper" 9.5/10"
"Around The Sun - Album flows together beautifully, and patience is virtue with this album. Some of Michael's best vocals feature - "Leaving New York" and "I Wanted To Be Wrong" are classics. 7/10"
"Accelerate - Punchy and concise new collection of tracks. A return musically to earlier triumphs in some respects, and great lyrically too. "Living Well.." "Man-Sized Wreath" "Sing For The Sub.." 7/10"
"10/10 The Major Label Years . Still Amazing. Many essential tracks covered, but still much for a new fan to discover in the rest of their back catalogue!"
"Dead Letter Office - Collection of 80s B-sides and rarities, a bit of a mixed bag. However, tracks 16-20 are the pre Murmur "Chronic Town" release from 1982, which is well worth a listen. 6.5/10"
