It's unlikely that you've bought this as a genuine introduction to the operatic tradition. Good. It appears to be the 22 chapter long fantasies of a 40 yr old adolescent. By all means check it out, God knows it's moderately entertaining for the first half, but the second half left me confused and annoyed- very much in the way listening to a small child make up a story for your entertainment would, but with the charming naivety of youth replaced with a deluded and ignorant moron at the helm.
Also, be warned, this is not complete. I assumed the whole sorry saga of Sylvester et al was contained within, turns out it's just the first half. It seems that the second half doesn't (and won't) exist anytime soon. Just sayin.
