If you can recall Wilde's witty comment that has something to do with 'gutters' and 'looking at the stars' you won't find it here. The most famous, (and corny) Wilde lines have been avoided for this book of his most interesting quotations. They have been married with suitable cat and dog illustrations, in the usual Drew style, that will sometimes clarify (but more likely confuse) the meanings of Wilde's quips. If you want a book to give you guidance and to supply you with a philosophy to live your life by, this isn't the book for you. If you want a good laugh and the ability to pass Wilde's most obscure remarks off as your own, buy it. Buy it now.

Simon Drew lives in Dartmouth, England, with his wife, Caroline, and his dog, Rabbit. He works from his gallery in Dartmouth, drawing mainly in pen and ink, making fiendishly inventive drawings of everyday objects, birds and animals, embellished with devious rhymes and word play.
