Not quite right 9 Dec 2010
By Tuffles
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I really did enjoy reading this book. The characters Darci and Steed are complete opposite in personality. Both of them are very career minded and know what they want. Darci is a very strong woman, who tries to get the police department to believe that her best friend Kenny Warwick is not dead. Who will believe her? Steed is attracted to her at first sight. He is married to his job, and works very hard and tries to get a promotion. A friendship soon developes between them. Great love story with a twist and happy ending. Can't wait to read more of Tammy Williams books in the future. Have also read the other two books before this one.

A frustrating read 28 Mar 2010
By Mils Lopez - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I really like Tammy Williams last two books so I was looking forward to this one. Technically, Ms. Williams is an excellent writer. Grammar, flow, editing all great. What I found frustrating was the story line. Darci thinks her friend didn't commit suicide, Steed does. For 2/3 of the book it's back and forth, "no he didn't." "Yes, he did." "No he didn't." "Yes, he did." My goodness by Chapter 16 I was screaming at Darci "if you feel that strongly about it, hire a detective," and I was screaming at Steed, "If you love her can you just humor her and at least look into the possibility she could be right." On top of it, I wasn't sure why they even ended up in a relationship. They spent 1/3 of the book arguing, they acknowledge their attraction and then fast forward two months later. What did they have in common? Arrgghh!!! I have no idea how this relationship developed. I really want to say I liked it but I read it in doses. It's not a horrible book but it definitely was not a satisfying read.

Not quite right 30 Mar 2010
By FOXY - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I enjoyed Ms. Williams previous book, "Blindsided" so much that this was a total let down. I found the dialogue quite repetitive. I was so sick and tired of Steed and Darci going back and forth about her best friend (Kenny) committing suicide, I was going to SCREAM!!!!! Other than that this was an ok read.

It was just right 12 Mar 2010
By S. Miller - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This book was a page turner right off the bat. I really enjoy when my stories have mystery and romance. I also liked that the story focused more on love and trust between the characters that had nothing to do with race. Yes I know that there's still racism out there but it was nice not having it be a real big issue in this book. And I'm really hoping that a special supporting character will get a story in the future.
