After reading some mixed reviews on other websites I am so glad I took a chance and bought this excellent travel system. It is so light and easy to steer, even one-handed, I just zipp around the shops now with a basket in one hand and weaving the buggy in and out with the other! And with some bag clips (a pack of 2 for [...]!) I can hang a couple of bags off the handles no problem. I had a more traditional travel system before I bought my quinny (a siver cross3d) and there is absolutely no contest.
Collapsing it is so easy, you just remove the seat, lock the wheels, hold down a button and pull it down. And putting it back up again you just have to unclip a catch and it literally springs up! (Compared to the silver cross where you had to hold the handles, while pulling up on two catches, whilst pushing another catch down with your foot, and then sort of throwing the buggy outwards!) I also love the fact that you can have the seat facing you, as so many other buggy's just have it facing outwards and I want to be able to see my baby, especially in the first 6 months.
Another bonus is the changing bag that's included. Its a very good size - I can easily fit several nappies, wipes, nappy sacks, 2 bottles, a pot of food, a large thermos, muslin, my purse, phone and camera in it! The downside is that where it clips onto the back of the frame blocks the carry handle for when its collapsed, making it slightly awkward to handle. Also, if you're traveling in the car with the frame in the boot you can't get access to it unlike if you had a separate bag.
The rain cover, which again is included, has an elastic trim, so as with everything else, fitting it is so simple - you just stretch it over the head end and pull it down around the footrest. There's also a zip around the top so that if it stops raining while you're out and about, you can open it up without having to take it off and carry it around.
It comes with the bigger seat too, but as my baby is still only 5 months I have not used it yet so cant comment, other than the value for money this extra seat will provide.
It also comes with a tyre pump, which thankfully I haven't had to use!
The maxi-cosi car seat is much lighter than others I've tried and the built-in sun shade is such a good idea. It also comes with an additional seat insert and headrest for when your baby's newborn, for better positioning. The only downside is that to fit into the quinny frame it comes with 2 little adaptors, and if you forget to take them with you then you're a bit stuck! However, it does come with a little built-in storage box underneath which just (and only just) fits the adaptors.
It is quite pricey, but if you're prepared to shop around its often on offer according to colour. And again, compared to other 'from birth' travel systems such as the silver cross, its actually similarly priced.
Overall I would highly recommend this travel system.
