I realised, on receipt of this book, that I already have it under the title Compendium of Quilting Techniques, which was a big shame as I was so looking forward to it arriving and learning new techniques and a few trade secrets. I contacted Susan Briscoe, the author, and she replied to my e-mails very quickly, explaining how this had happened, one a UK publisher and one a US publisher. She has tried to explain this on the Amazon site and had left a note again, so hopefully this will be clearer for future purchasers. The Marketplace seller offered me a refund although i have now lost two lots of postage costs and ended up with no book. I've paid out good money for this error, yet have nothing to show for it, a fault that really should be rectified.

took me to the next level 23 Mar. 2009
By Lisa G. Soicher - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book took my quilting to the next level by offering me useful tips that I had never learned. I feel like the quality of my work and the use of my "sacred quilting time" has been enhanced from what I've learned with this book. I love the easy readability. The guide is well-thought out and has been both helpful and enjoyable to own.

A fascinating resource for new and seasoned quilters 22 Mar. 2009
By Anita Grossman Solomon - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
A rich and stand out reference book of all manner of quilting - lavishly illustrated with color photographs and detail oriented tips. It's attractive and well designed. The typefaces are extremely legible; useful information abounds in every quick glance. Not one word or page is wasted; there is even a handy fold out flap displaying important measurements. Its 7 1/2 x 9 3/4" footprint makes it easily accessible. At the moment, it's sitting on my night table.

Very Useful Quilting tips 2 Nov. 2009
By Ramona L. Walker - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This guide is very well illustrated and is helpful whether you are a beginner in the world of quilting or you have experience and want to sharpen your technique. It will add something to every quilter's arsenal of tips that make quilting easier and more enjoyable.

I actually checked this out at the library and decided I wanted to write down everything so I had to have a copy of my own.

An Excellent Resource 27 Jan. 2010
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I have recently decided to begin quilting in earnest. I have made two baby quilts before with moderate success, but never quite knew my options as far as binding methods and for home machine quilting. I also felt I had gaps in my knowledge of pattern, techniques and general knowledge.

I picked up this book on the recommendation of a friend and I was very pleased with it. It very thoroughly covers almost everything you might need to knew about quilting. It covers a lot of information, but it is divided into small segments of info so you never feel bogged down with too much information. It has plenty of color photographs and illustrations to reinforce topics.

I can see myself coming back to this book as an easy reference again and again. I highly recommend this book to novice and expert quilters alike.

A pretty good reference 8 Oct. 2010
By Stephanie Jackson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I ordered this book thinking it would give me a great motivation to learn new quilting techniques, but it really didn't. It is a good guide for those techniques you don't know, but I didn't even know how to incorperate some of the techniques into my quilting, so it seemed a little overwhelming. This would maybe be good for a more advanced quilter. I am going to keep it, for the future if I see/hear of a technique I am not familiar with, then I can use it for that. All in all, good info, but not quite as useful as I had hoped.
