I was hoping this would be my go-to book, but I'm disappointed.
I'm a beginner quilter...not new to sewing, but new to quilting. This book offered about 30-40 pages of good information, including the very basic information about the sewing machine, how to thread it, etc. It's great to be inclusive to all levels of sewers, and to start from the very ground up. I can skip the parts that I already know. But I think it could have offered more instruction, for example, in how to put pieces together, maybe a section on how to fix problems (if something goes wrong, how to fix it, etc) and maybe a FAQ section.
The last 3/4 of the book is patterns, and I see that there is continued instruction and tips throughout the patterns, but I was really hoping for a very complete "manual", and I don't think this is it. Will have to keep looking.
