My friend made a small size quilt of various animals for her granddaughter. After I saw her quilt, I couldn't resist and purchased my own book. I am in the process of making 2 wall quilts of various animals for each of my 2 sons - both are being made with somewhat different fabrics and a different layout of each quilt. I would highly recommend this book for its uniqueness, accuracy and visual appeal. Also, I have had mine coil bound which makes it easier to lay flat and trace the animals on the interfacing. Thanks to Margaret Rolfe!

If you enjoy foundation piecing and animals, this is the book for you. The only negative is that the blocks are not all the same size.

I found this book and introduced it to several generations of women in my family. Some of them had never quilted before. We all love it. It's been a great focal point for all of us. We come from a variety of backgrounds but we all have found common ground in using this book.

I have only had this book a short time but the more animals I make, the more I look to add animals in other projects. This is a great book. The foundation piecing technique is much easier than paper foundation piecing.

A friend at my quilt group has this book and was busy making all the animals. I was impressed, and saw that I could get the Kindle version. I did so, and found I could download all the patterns on my desktop computer. I did this and now have all that I need to make the animals, except suitable materials which I now have an eye out for!

This book was recommended to me by a friend, and what a find! It is well set-out with the 'how to', lovely pictures and ideas for different projects and a 'user-friendly' collation of plans. Not for a very beginner to patchwork, but with lots of simple exciting animal pictures to make - I can't wait to complete some wall-hangings for the grandchildren as I know they will love these super animals and birds!
A minor difficulty is effectively photocopying the plans in order to adjust the sizing of the patchwork animal as the book does not stay open very well, to fit on the photocopier - I have resorted to tracing the plan and copying that, but it takes a while.
The book arrived within 5 days of order, was well-packed, well-labelled and neat. A very good buy.

The designs in this book are very attractive, and I have seen them made up by a friend (they looked great)which is what prompted me to buy the book, but for me the piecing is a bit too fiddly to be enjoyable. I have made a few of the patterns but am not in too much of a hurry to do more.

Very good selection of animals. Small, but I scanned and enlarged for my needs.
I do not care for Foundation piecing, so have adapted to templates !!
