The Art Quilt Collection is a wonderfully inspiring book , full of very clear phots of art quilts and also close up photos to show more detail. There is a useful written description of the materials and method used , but one of the best things , that as yet I havent come across before, in a book of this type, is detailed instructions on how to create some of the ideas yourself. There are numerous step-by- step instructions, very clearly shown on how to create some of the art quilts. There are painting techniques, using colour photographs,freehand fabric blocks,using interconnecting shapes and others . These add an unexpected bonus to a really inspiring book.

This is a beautiful book, full of lovely photographs by many different quilt artists. There are 120 quilts illustrated with a full picture of each quilt as well as smaller detailed image. There is a brief statement by each artist, but it is not a step by step guide and am puzzled as to why it is being marketed as such? Instead, it is a delightful book to sit and browse and gain inspiration of the possibilites of this medium.

bought after reading the other review and must say it is very good ..... i have bought many quilt books and they can be a mixed bag ... this however dose not disappoint... beautifully clear photographed work, the work is of an high standard .. painters and quilters will find much to like
