If you have been reading Donna Leon for as long as I have, don't make my mistake of thinking this is a new book or one you've somehow missed. It's an old favourite, Death of Faith, appearing under its American title, but with no warning. I can't help feeling conned. If you haven't read it, it's a cheap copy of one of her best.
I'd like to amend my review, since I'm now, after a gap of some eight years, re-reading it with immense enjoyment: I had forgotten just how good it is. I should have given it five stars.
