Product Description

Product Description

Imagine there is a place where you can't be touched by the noise and tensions of the modern world. Where, no matter what's going on around you, you can find time and space and room to breathe.

This place exists. It's called The Quiet.

Some people spend a lifetime of meditation practice and spiritual studies trying to find it. You can be on your way there in as little as 13 minutes.

The Quiet practices are centred around four simple steps (three physical, one mental) that transform your mental state and the way you feel. They're more streamlined than traditional meditation methods, but every bit as deep. In fact, the major difference is their simplicity, and the way they dovetail into a busy, dynamic life.

There's never been a more pressing need for the peace of mind, clarity of thought, emotional stability and physical wellbeing that flow from these practices.

There's never been a more pressing need for The Quiet.

5.0 out of 5 stars A revolution of calm for stressed professionals!, 23 Jan 2007
Quite amazing how easy this book was to read and understand and how powerful an impact it had on my stressed out mind. I'd read other
Paul Wilson books (Calm etc) so knew that he made things accessible, but
meditation is a fairly tricky subject for me sometimes and he's really made it seem simple.
I've been meditating for a few years and suspected this might have been more
of the same. But it's not. It's very clever really. It shows you exactly how
all the different meditation types work, and how they all fit in. Then it
shows you can put them to use - no matter how busy your life is.
I have told all of my professional friends to get a copy as a matter of urgency....this stuff really works.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Quiet, 22 Feb 2007

I found this book easy to read & understand, certainly a very good introduction to meditation techniques for beginners & some useful ideas for the more experienced meditator. I liked the symbols used to suggest times for meditation as well as the general appearance of the book. I have recommended it to several friends & the feedback has been good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite a book, 9 Aug 2007
By N. Marik "Neelesh" (London) - See all my reviews

This is the best book on meditation I have read to-date.

It compares and contrasts the 3 fundamental types of meditation namely 'Deep', 'Directed' and 'Aware', and eventually shows how all converge to the same outcome, while adopting different paths.

It offers simple, easy-to-follow suggestions and practice recipes for beginners and advanced users, while blending the art form to a larger goal of
identifying with the eventual source of everything.

Every single person can get a fleeting sense of the 'Quiet' by adopting the Centre-Widen-Listen technique for a few minutes.

This is indeed the pinnacle of Paul Wilson's 'Calm' series.
