That this is a low budget movie is apparent from the start with a couple of badly acted scenes but it does settle down. The story opens with a man receiving a video of his wife tied to a chair and a ransom demand. He sets off the next day to pay the demand of a million dollars that he has acquired but it all goes badly wrong, he dies and the money disappears. From there the film flicks back 24 hours and you see the story from a different viewpoint and so it goes jumping back and forwards as the layers are peeled away and the conspiracy is unravelled. The film is curiously compelling and you will watch it to the end to see what happens but that doesn't make it a good film. There are a couple of gratuitous sex scenes that add nothing to the plot and several important strands of the story are left hanging. Why does he have a million dollars in cash? Why was his wife meeting the police at the motel and so on. There are no recognisable stars in this and the soundtrack is only stereo though there is a reasonable selection of extras. The settings are gritty and realistic but overall it wasn't a particularly good film.
