An unbelievably beautiful album, this collection of songs has absolutely become my favourite release of 2011. I first got to hear of this band when a friend of mine shared the video for the wonderous Scottish Widows via Facebook and from there I was hooked. The Quickening has some truly fantastic songs - apart from Scottish Widows, the likes of Hey Zeus, Unclean Powers and the closer John Candy really stand out. I've also been lucky enough to see this band live during 2011 and would highly recommend if the chance comes around.
