5.0 out of 5 stars Good read 22 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book. What you have is a Q&A format that answers all the questions any person wishing to become an affiliate might ask. There are handy tips all the way through and just as importantly there is advice on what not to do.

Geno does not promise to give you a formula to get rich quick, but helps to give you some of the tools to start your journey. Everything from good tools to use to export feeds, to the networks you could work with. I think if you are new to affiliate marketing, or fancy a refresh on some areas, you should read this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says well 2 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My motivation for reading this book was to understand how the best affiliates work, what they look for and what motivates them. As a leader of a consultancy I have a number of clients who are merchants, improving their performance is my critical objective. With that aim in mind, this book met my objective. So why only 3 stars? Well, the subject matter is one that I've never been comfortable with as a creator of beautiful experiences. How can one reconcile the inherent 'hackerish' tactics of affiliate marketers with the needs of a beautiful web? Well, simply, you cannot. All that can be hoped for is that the primary objective of affiliateers becomes the creation and delivery of quality content that has purpose and meaning, with a happy by-product being an affiliate marketing business. Alas, this desire is a fallacy, for as long as the innate human desire to 'get rich quick' exists, as will valueless affiliate sites. So, for that reason alone this book gets 3 stars. For everything else, it's a 5 star book. Easy to read, easy to understand, concise, actionable, and overall very well written.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is NOT a get-rich-quick guide. This is what beginners should really be reading. 29 Aug 2013
By Bill Swartwout - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is not a get-rich-quick guide. There are no shortcuts in our business unless 1) you get incredibly lucky or 2) you fall in with a shady group of scammers. Neither are good for long-term success (and one may even get you in trouble). Working in the Affiliate Marketing industry is said to be more of a marathon than a sprint - and this guide will show beginners how to take those first steps.

Divided into three sections, the narrative begins by describing the basic ideas of what it means to work in the affiliate marketing industry. The second section adds enough in-depth information to actually begin and maintain ones own marketing website. The final section takes those ideas and embellishes them with more advanced tenets of the industry to take that "working site" and help the new affiliate marketer move it to the next level.

So, what are my credentials for offering this review? I have been working in affiliate marketing for well over a dozen years, attend major conferences and have been published in a major industry magazine. I wish a guide such as this had been available when I was getting started (late in the last millennium). I learned much of what Geno presents here by the old-fashioned method of trial and error, which, of course, takes a lot longer.

My intro to this review mentions "luck." It is well known that the harder one works the luckier they seem to be. With that cliche aside, I can say that this book is certainly worth the little it costs and the time it takes to read. You will gain an understanding about what it really takes to get started in the world of online marketing. Where you go from there is up to you...

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart. Simple. Quick Read. 21 Aug 2013
By Todd Farmer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I love that the book is written in this "FAQ Style" or "Q&A Style".

The Answers to these 60 Questions are very succinct, helpful and to-the-point. This efficiency allows for a very quick read.

The 60 questions are organized in 3 main categories, "Basics", "Day to Day Operations" and "Advanced Topics".

As Geno writes in the introduction: if you simply spend time to read and understand 20 questions a day, you'll have a firm grasp on an overall understanding of Affiliate Marketing in just 3 days.

This is a great guide for beginners. Well done.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Straight Forward "What Is" Q&A To Affiliate Marketing 7 Feb 2014
By Alex Alexander - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you're looking for a simple "What Is" guide to affiliate marketing, Prussakov's "Quick Start Guide to Affiliate Marketing", is a good place to start. If you're looking for a "How To" guide, then look elsewhere. The author makes no promises of providing that type of content in this book, however I imagine someone starting out in affiliate marketing would be hungrier for more content about getting started rather than an educational overview of the subject. Well written, simple, and straight forward. "Quick Start Guide to Affiliate Marketing" isn't quite the fulfilling read you'll want it to be. It's more like taking your vitamins before breakfast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beginners and Experts Alike Will Benefit From This Book 20 Aug 2013
By Steve Hill - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In the space of 60 questions, Geno Prussakov provides a clear, experienced look at affiliate marketing. Every affiliate marketer should be asking these questions - but few do. It would take years of experience to find or learn the answers, but Geno's extensive experience shines as he explains.

This book is not a simple step-by-step guide to affiliate marketing, but is more of an overview of the entire process and industry. Packed with hard-to-find information that every successful affiliate marketer should know, it provides many valuable insights.

While some questions may seem basic at first glance, such as "What affiliate networks are available?" even experts can learn from the answers provided (in this case, a long list of global networks). Geno also explains many seldom-taught techniques that successful affiliates use on a daily basis, such as calculating future affiliate earnings from a specific network.

In my opinion, this book is an exceptional value. While I seldom provide product endorsements, in this case I have no hesitation recommending Geno's Quick Start Guide to Affiliate Marketing.

5.0 out of 5 stars He's Done it Again! 18 Aug 2013
By cammy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Evgenii 'Geno' Prussakov has been clarifying basic issues surrounding the Affiliate Marketing Industry since before he wrote 'A Practical Guide to Affiliate Marketing: Quick Reference for Affiliate Managers & Merchants' that gave Merchants and Managers a better understanding of how all the parts work together, and how to more successfully manage an affiliate program.

This is a counterpart to that, giving affiliates a better and more honest understanding of their part in the equation. Forget the late night infomercials, and promises of easy riches. This book will show you everything that you need to know to start off right and work toward your goals - partly by setting realistic goals and expectations. Peppered with charts, information tables for real world reference and easy to read and understand chapters that give you a real look of how it all works for the Publisher or Affiliate. Information about the various networks, how to chart your course, how to decide on what programs are right for you, answers to all the common questions and many that might never occur to a new affiliate. In the competitive field of affiliate marketing that can make you feel like you're trying to navigate through a maze blindfolded, this book can be your headlights and GPS.

Geno's years in the industry and careful analysis of how things work in the industry makes this a starting affiliate's best choice to learn it right and avoid costly mistakes. I wish I'd had this book when I started in 2002.
