I have to admit that I'm not a fan of many of the quilting books on the market. Many of them seem to contain rather old-fashioned designs which would only look right in a country cottage. Quick Colourful Quilts is thankfully different as it contains stylish quilts which would look great in any home. I really liked the use of colour (especially as the author gives plenty of advice on alternative colourways). These quilts would look wonderful alongside contemporary furnishings and there are some lovely designs for a child's room. The instructions are very clear and there are plenty of pictures and diagrams. I would recommend this book to any quilter looking for some inspiration.

I have this book and I would agree that as most of quilt books have quite old-fashioned designs this one actually made me want to make my first quilt for one of the bedrooms as the designs are inspiring, with fresh colours and do look easy to put together.
Other features:
Colours: The colour schemes are very nice.
Instructions: Each quilt has step by step instructions with picture diagrams as well as an introduction if you have never done it before.
Measurements: The final measurements of the completed quilts are given as well the possibilities / explanation how to increase the size.
Blocks: Each block is given details of how to put it together as well as how many separate pieces building one block you need in order to put the whole quilt together.
Definitely an inspiring book, well presented and well written book... I can't wait to see the results of my first quilt .... Thanks you for a good book with loads of clues in it, fabulous help.

This book was not the first quilt book I have purchased but definitely the first one that really inspired me to have a go! Since purchasing this I have made 1 large quilt, 2 quilted cushions and purchased fabric for two further quilts - including a king-size version. Very easy instructions, some good photographs of completed work and sufficient motivation to move this slothful wannabequilter into action!
