This book introduces the Argeneau family of vampires and centres around Lissianna, a 202 year old vampire with haemophobia. Her mother is worried for her health and so recruits Dr Gregory Hewitt (with a bit of mind control) to help cure her.
I thought this was a pretty good read. It was kind of different from others in this genre in that it wasn't dark and intense which I must say I normally like however, i didn't feel it made the book lacking in anything either. This book was a light and refreshing read, it was really fast moving and was funny. I thought the characters were great, so like a regular family, they were quite sweet actually. The romance between Lissianna and Gregory was fun too.
My only criticisms (though they didn't bother me too much) were that Gregory accepted his situation very quickly which I find hard to believe. Also the sub-plot of the murderer after them was so obvious you literally knew the second you met the guy despite the weak attempt to make you think it was someone else. But, like I said it didn't bother me much and I wouldn't let that put you off.
If you like the dark and intense books of J.R. Ward (which are completely awesome!) and others like that then this book will be a hit or a miss. Personally I quite enjoyed the change of pace (though Ward wins without a doubt) and I will read on because I quite like a light and fluffy book (with fangs) now and again.
