Great picture. 28 Sep 2011
By TIM
Because of travel over the years I have a worldwide dvd collection. This played anything I put in it - UK, Asian, Chinese, American. Superb picture - great colour and very crisp. Maximum sound could have been louder but was OK for use in the house and has headphone socket which might be handy in a car. Resumes play where you left off. Incredibly light and pretty slim - great for a kid's lap.
Need the remote for full control (accessing max volume, switching off subtitles, etc.) which is a bit annoying.
If batteries get low it plays intermittently - no error message - so just needs recharging. So it's best to play it with power lead in, and so for very long car journeys an inverter might be handy to keep it going.
Freeview aerial isn't good enough to get any signal where we are, but might be OK if you're within a few miles of a transmitter, but the socket is for a standard aerial so it could connect to a full aerial/booster. I didn't care about the freeview - it was about the cheapest multi-region DVD portable that I could find and it does that job well.
