Wow! What a toy! Anything that can power three lads aged from 10 to 13 up a very long steep hill loaded with shopping in record time, with absolutely NO wingeing has to be a winner!
They played with the suspension version of this in the toy shop, then the Robert, aged ten decided to invest his birthday money in the ground based roller coaster version.
I was tripping over the track all weekend as they put together the most amazing layouts, improvising to get round awkward bits of house and furniture that got in the way.
It goes together easily - and stays together, but is sophisticated enough for older kids. They have to think about what they are doing, they experiment naturally to get it all to work properly. Highly satisfying both for them and for me watching the concentration and co-operation (for once!) as they built their roller coasters.
The instructions and explanation of the physics behind this is great too - if you can get them to read it of course. I will get them to read the instructions some time I am sure. :-)
The boys are back in a few hours, no doubt my house will once more be transformed into something out of Alton Towers.

My only complaint is there are no girls featured on the packaging. I have raised this with the manufacturer.

Worth its weight in gold.

I didnt think this toy was going to be any good,and thought it quite expensive, however it is well worth it, for the amount of hours already it has been played with, my son wanted this after having played with one at a friends house, after my 12 yr old son had opened this on Xmas day, he played with it for 3 hours non stop, and has continued for the last few days with it. It is quite ingenius, though it looks quite flimsy plastic, it is very sturdy, clips and unclips very easily, yet is durable even with several marbles rolling down it at the same time. You can really make a tall tower, and my son has even used our staircase in the design, along with other pieces of furniture.It teaches alot about gravity and engineering, and ensures that they have to figure out the best way to increase and decrease the speed of the marbles, to ensure they do not get flung off the track.Having had a houseful of kids including several older kids, over the holidays, it has definately been the most popular toy, even beating the XBOX. My only complaint is that I am now tripping over it everywhere.
