Product Description

Product Description

Picador Street, 1990s. Known affectionately (and sometimes not so!) by the locals as Queer Street. Matthew lives here. His life consists of a dead end job, a love life that's equally terminal, and a neighbour and best friend (and self proclaimed Fag Hag) Penny. His social life consists of the local gay pub, or nights in with the company of the TV. So when a young man called Paul starts at his place of work, Matthew is unprepared for the ever escalating series of events that surround their developing romance. And he's just one of the occupants! There's Terry, dyke with attitude, who falls for newcomer Joanne, a timid girl with a love of anything fattening. There's Terry's brother, Bradley, stunningly good looking and boringly straight. And their mother, Clarice, a statuesque, well meaning busybody. A eclectic gaggle of people, all about to get to know each other a whole lot better!

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 stars for the story, 1 star for all the mistakes. 28 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Very entertaining and a great read but and it's a big BUT, it has SO many grammatical and typing errors - literally hundreds. Some are so glaringly obvious it just appears the book has not been proof read or even spell checked at all. I usually put down Kindle books that are full of mistakes as I lose concentration but somehow this story grabbed me and kept me interested. I wanted to know what happened and actually cared for many characters.

Give it a try it's a nice LGBT read, if a little difficult due to all the mistakes. Judging by the ending I'm guessing there will be a sequel - author; PLEASE TAKE NOTE - be a bit more thorough with your spelling & correcting the wrong words if publishing a book in the public domain - you may well get the recognition you then deserve because you know how to put together a decent story!

2.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to Read 15 Feb 2012
By Sassy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is difficult to read. At first, I thought it was formatting problem with the Kindle. Then, I realized the author made no attempts to separate anything. He changes points of view with no preface. You can go from reading about the story of one person and then to a whole other group. The same with the quotes. You can be reading along, reading what one person is saying and then BANG someone else is talking with no signals.

The story is like one long stream of thought from numerous people, at numerous times and no apparent break.

It's messy. Needed an editor.

I didn't hate it. It was too confusing to hate. Too confusing to get a sense of what the author was trying to do with the story.
