If you've stuck with the series thus far then you'll know what you are in for and though some of it is bad a lot of it is very good. Where QAF USA wins over its Mancunian predecessor is the luxury of a larger budget, substantially longer story arcs and a larger cast hinting at a greater diversity.

I loved the series but did find that they tended to jump on a bandwagon and ride it all the way - ramming a point home; pointless really when, let's face it the massive majority of QAF USA's audience were gay men and women who knew about the 'issues' that were being raised anyway. That said what else could they do?

For all its faults I still rate QAF USA as decent television drama that is deserving of a place in queer history. Buy it - complete the collection!

Queer as folk season 1-5 better story , better actors with more depth in each person and you got to know them and feel like they could be one of your friends..... It made you laugh, cringe, but best it even made you cry and for a film to do all this and more it gets top marks
