Product Description

Product Description

Built by Fincantieri and introduced into service in late 2007, Queen Victoria's reign is still young. She has been welcomed with open arms by the cruising public and is already a floating celebrity with royal engagements, tandem Atlantic crossings and Gala World Cruises. The first in a new breed of Cunard ships, her unique design - based on the Vista Class hull of Carnival Corporation - is strengthened and enhanced to give her the ability to cross the North Atlantic Ocean. This hybrid represents a new era for the 170-year-old Cunard Line, introducing one of the most luxurious ships to carry the Golden Lion. Queen Victoria: A Photographic Journey takes the reader on the journey of a lifetime through the public rooms of this stately ship. From her exquisite Grand Lobby to her Royal Court Theatre, each room is described in light narrative with complementing photographs, allowing the reader to enjoy an on-board experience from the comfort of their living room! Written by two passionate ocean liner and cruise fans, this book is beautifully illustrated with over 200 colour photographs, creating a lovely lasting memento of Cunard's Queen Victoria.

Everything it promises to be, and more! 9 Aug 2011
By Shipping_Fan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book is everything it promises to be, a photographic journey aboard QV.

The authors have clearly spent a lot of time collating the imagery and writing the text in an easy to read and enjoyable way. The book takes you to every public room, cabins, behind the scenes and has an interview with Captain Christopher Rynd.

The book does not promise to be a deep history of shipping or Cunard, and it's not. What it is, is a photographic tour aboard a world class Cunard ship and is highly recommended to all fans of Cunard.

Highly recommended!

Superb 14 Jan 2011
By Jack - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
120 pages of pure bliss, this is a magnificent book with excellent original colour photographs of every single area aboard QV.

It has all cabin types, restauants, bars, lounges, on deck, corridors.

A real treat is the Behind the Scenes area including the Bridge, Engines (amazing), Stores and kitchens!

A foreword is by iconic Cunard personality Alastair Greener and an after word by QV's captain makes it a wonderful book for anyone who has (or wants to) sail aboard the Queen.

hardcover brouchure 3 July 2011
By TomEnroute - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is hugely disappointing. There is almost no copy, except for the occasional little factoid.
The ship is not really unique in any way, there are about 10 other near identical ships in the world of Carnival. The decor looks like a variation on the QMII so a whole book of photos is about as interesting as a tax form.
