Many of us know The Snow Queen-in itself, one of Andersen's most dramatic stories. This version, brought out by the excellent Templar, is illustrated by a young and very fine Ukrainian illustrator, Vladyslav Yerko. He appears to specialize in minute details which combine to create an atmosphere which is almost tangible-this book is full of cold and frostiness !
This would make a wonderful present to someone of virtually any age. And I'm waiting with baited breath for more English-language books containing Yerko pictures.

I have this book in Russian and was very pleasantly surprised that you can get it in English too. The illustrations are simply stunning and so detailed that my daughter and I often use the magnifying glass to look at them. I would recommend this book to anyone. It would make a stunning gift.

The pictures in this book are beautiful and I love that there is a "search" at the end of the book for various items in the pictures. I am looking forward to reading this to my daughter on the run up to Christmas.
