I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this book, so bought it anyway, and have to say im very pleased with it. There are no photos save for the cover pictures, but the author has obviously spent a lot of time putting together his thoughts on all the Queen songs / albums and tours and a lot of research into the background of each. The book is split into sections (Albums, Songs, Tours, Videos etc) and its good to read some of the stories behind each. A lot of the information is known, but as the book also coveres unrelaeased tracks its an informative read. Probably not for the casual reader, but certainly for the Queen fan who wants everything. Like any book of this kind, a lot of the song overviews include the authors own views on the song/album, so i found myself disagreeing with some of his views on which songs/albums were great and which were not so great, but thats half the fun of a book like this. Its very wide ranging and covers Queen, solo releases and pre-Queen releases. So overall an excellent book which is good to dip in and out when you feel like it rather than to read from cover to cover. The only ommission i could find was the solo track from Freddie "You Are The Only One" which personally i think is an amazing song and its a shame it was never completed, would have been good to find out more about its origins...maybe one for the updated version in a few years ;-) although having said that, i could have missed it...im away to check again!

This is the Titan reprinted version of Georg's 2007 book of the same name printed by Reynolds and Haim, so if you own that copy already, the odds are you won't want this new one as there isn't anything new to add. However if you have a Queen fan in your home that doesn't own a copy, this one is a delightful trip through the albums as well as individual tracks so that the reader knows the bands full history and trivia in regard to the groups work together and as individuals.
Sadly there are no illustrations in this version (not even album covers) but the sheer volume of information makes this an invaluable piece for the Queen Collector. A decent book all in and one that will have pride of place on my shelves next to my own Queen albums. (Yes I'm that old. LOL)

It Definitely is Complete

I have been looking forward to this book ever since I learned of it almost a year ago and it was definitely worth the wait.
It is loaded with a ton of information and I was impressed on how thorough it was. I especially enjoyed reading the section on both the albums and songs. Now I do consider myself to be a major Queen fan but there was still quite a lot of new information to digest, mostly a collection of small facts that I did not know. I am also glad that the author included some of the reviews each album received when they were released. It is interesting to see how the world reacted to Queen then while they were fresh in comparison to how they are viewed now.
I highly recommend it to Queen fans. It has been a lot of fun to thumb through the sections and read in small segments. I know I will pull this off the shelf quite regularly.
I would have given this book 5 stars if it was completely factual. The author has placed his opinions throughout the book and I found unappealing and at times almost offensive. While it all comes down to personal preferences and opinion, he has his and I have mine, it did make some of the sections hard to read. I guess we have our differences on the album Jazz.
If you can look past his opinions, the book is still a very welcome addition to my library and worth a purchase.
