Product Description

Mail on Sunday

'The story tells of impoverished Lizzie running out of money in New York but dating a rich Parisian aristocrat.'

Product Description

When "Summer Fling" Luke uses the L word (Living Together), Lizzie is only too happy to move in with the love of her life in his mother's Fifth Avenue pied-à-terre.

But Lizzie's not as lucky in her employment search. As her best friend, Shari, finds the perfect job, Lizzie struggles through one humiliating interview after another, until Shari's boyfriend Chaz lands Lizzie a receptionist's position at his father's posh law firm. The non-paying gig at a local wedding-gown shop Lizzie manages to find all on her own.

But Lizzie's notoriously big mouth gets her into trouble almost at once—first at the law firm, where she becomes too chummy with a society bride, and then with Luke when she brings up the M word (Marriage).

Soon Lizzie finds herself jobless and homeless all over again. Can Lizzie save herself and find career security (not to mention a committed relationship) at last?

'She is the master of her genre . . . the George Bernard Shaw if not the George Eliot of chick lit' Publishers Weekly

5.0 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too, 5 Sep 2007

As the sequel of QUEEN OF BABBLE, the crazy antics of Lizzie Nichols were expected and delivered. There will obviously be another book in this series, because the ending is such a cliff-hanger!

Lizzie now lives in New York and is living with her boyfriend, Luke, and is looking for a job. She finds one but... they don't pay. So what is she going to do for money?

On top of all of her financial issues, Lizzie thinks that there might be something very special in that box under the Christmas tree. But is it what she expects?

Lizzie is such a realistic character and she is so funny and real! So much of what she does can be related to real life.

QUEEN OF BABBLE IN THE BIG CITY is a fun, new, easy read from my favorite author, Meg Cabot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, 12 Mar 2008

This book is amazing! It has such a cliff-hanger that i can't wait for the next one!

In true Meg Cabot style Lizzie, now living in NY with Luke, goes on a rollarcoaster of a ride when she gets a job at a law firm as a secretary. Many things develop and she ends up learning some home truths.

There's not much you can say without giving a lot of the plot away but if you're looking for something fun, with that extra umph then this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another 5 stars for Meg Cabot!, 16 Nov 2008
This was so outragously funny, just like her previous one. Lizzie is back, but this time she's in New York and living with Luke.

WARING spoiler alert!!!

Those of you who adored Luke in the first book will come to realise that he's not all that perfect. You'll also find ot about Shari's big secret which to me was a major shocker as I didn't find any hints of it in the first book, although there are a few in this one. Then there's Chaz who I came to adore, you'll see why - he's just so sweet and gets more hotter in the third.

Through the book, you follow Lizzie through her journey in trying to establish herself in some form in the wedding gown industry and you meet new characters - especially Ava and Tiffany who are outright funny - you just have to laugh at their antics.

All in all, this book is a mjor highight and Cabot outshines herself once again.

Can she do know wrong? This author is on a role!
