Product Description

Review

While aimed at beginners, Dummies also highlights new features in Quark v.6for up–graders seeking to brush up their skills. Clear prose, step–by–step instructions, tips and warnings make this a useful guide; sidebars and brief notes on "technical stuff" provide additional information without overwhelming novices. Content ranges from a basic introduction to the interface up through creating web projects and indexes. Covering both the Windows and Mac versions, this is a good purchase for all public libraries and those seeking to replace older guides (see Computer Media, LJ 9/11/02). (Library Journal, November 1, 2003)

Helpful book on how to use a powerful tool 21 Dec. 2003
By P. J. Perry - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I work as a copy editor at a newspaper, so I needed a book which would help me get started real quick! I played around a bit with Quark years ago, but I really needed it fleshed out for my understanding. This book explains all the basic tools in Quark, and gives some good technical tips. I just wished it could have also given some advice on decent layout design. I keep this one at my desk!

I love my new version of QXP and I used this book to help me get to a place that I could order an update of Quark to 9. All the "Dummies" books have been helpful to me at one time or another.
A must for those who haven't had instruction in this program 2 Oct. 2013
By L. J. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
QuarkExpress has a fairly steep learning curve so any help in short cutting that learning curve is helpful. Easy to find topics, but it is a program that requires basic knowledge in order to get up and running. As with all books for "dummies", the humor is a bonus. I recommend this book.
Very good basic guide 29 Jun. 2011
By Suzanna Burnham - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Quark is a huge, complex program, and every guide book will have certain limitations of scope. Having said that, I highly recommend this guide for beginner or pro, since it covers the subject matter with unusual clarity.
