All 22 episodes from the fourth season of the award-winning time-travel series. Scientist Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) gets trapped inside his own 'Quantum Leap' experiment, and leaps into the bodies of people whose problems only he can solve. Joined by the hologram projection of his wise-cracking adviser Al (Dean Stockwell), Sam has to help each person he leaps into before he can leave, all the while hoping that the next leap will get him home. In this series, Sam leaps into the body of a KKK member as he tries to help a black civil rights activist, and also into the body of a chimp trying to survive a NASA scientist's neurological experiments. In the final episode of the season, Sam leaps into Al's body in 1957 in order to prevent the death of Al's married lover. But when Sam makes a mess of things, Al could be facing the death penalty for murder. Episodes are: 'The Leap Back'; 'Play Ball'; 'Hurricane'; 'Justice'; 'Permanent Wave'; 'Raped'; 'The Wrong Stuff'; 'Dreams'; 'A Single Drop of Rain'; 'Unchained'; 'The Play's the Thing'; 'Running For Honour'; 'Temptation Eyes'; 'The Last Gunfighter'; 'A Song For the Soul'; 'Ghost Ship'; 'Roberto!'; 'It's a Wonderful Leap'; 'Moments to Live'; 'The Curse of Ptah-Hotep'; 'Stand Up'; and 'A Leap For Lisa'.

Region 2 is still the best way to view Quantum Leap. Six discs instead of the region one 3 double sided discs. Out of the five sets available this is the only set with music edits. It's not all bad only 9 of the episodes have music replaced e.g. a song or two per episode. The rest of the episodes are still intact. That's only 9 episodes out of the 97 episode run that have been altered compared to region one. They have season two, three and four edited for music. Due to the copyright laws over here season two and three were released uncut. Why wasn't season four released uncut? Please ask Universal playback as I have no idea. This is a another great season! 22 episodes that are still as good today as they were when they were originally broadcast. Quantum Leap doesn't date! The special effects improve as the series goes on and with the new look digitally remastered picture they look even better! This 8 time emmy nominated season is worth watching again and again and for that price... what are you waiting for?

Episodes you must own

The Leap back
Ghost Ship
It's a wonderful leap
Stand Up
A leap for Lisa

This show never jumped the shark / quark and season five is just as good

4.0 out of 5 stars Great series 14 May 2014
By Sue
I’ve been a fan of Quantum Leap since it was on TV 20 years ago or more, and have all the series on DVD. We watch maybe one a week… so it took nearly six months to see this series.

There are some great episodes, including one where Sam becomes a chimp, and an amazing finale when Sam leaps back into Al as a young man, caught up in a murder trial. There are a few logic leaps, as ever with time travel, but also some amusing quips, and fascinating insights into both Al and Sam as people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some of the best episodes in the series 11 Sep 2013
This season contains some of the best and some not so great episodes "stand up" for instance. As everyone knows with these DVD releases now some of the original music used in the show has been omitted by universal. But to be quite honest it doesn't even get noticed I always thought it was the actual instrumental score of the show which gave its atmosphere. Overall I would recommend this season without any hesitation. Even the bad episodes have their charms. This is a classic cult sc-fi show which was far to ambitious for its time which stretched the budget of the show to its knees. This season can sit proudly next to number 3 as being one of the best of the series.
