I've been taking AHCC for two and a half years, since I was diagnosed with low grade prostate cancer. This Japanese product (containing a proprietary blend of medicinal mushrooms) is recommended by Dr Aaron Katz, director of the Center for Holistic Urology at Columbia University Medical Center, in his two books on prostate disease (both available on Amazon). He considers it a staple in his regimen for men with prostate cancer who are undergoing "watchful waiting" for their cancer. I take 4 capsules daily, plus other supplements recommended by Katz. My last two biopsies were negative and my PSA has been stable so far. Although AHCC is marketed primarily as an immune system enhancer (I have not had a cold since I began taking AHCC), it may have other, anti-cancer benefits as well. I highly recommend AHCC.

This has been a critical supplement managing COPD and battling bladder cancer. Never experienced negative side effects. Experienced noticable difference in lung function in 2 weeks, and feel it has contributed to non-remission of bladder cancer.
