I picked one of these up from Homebase today, where for the purposes of price comparison it is currently £[]. Everything apart from the handles came assembled. A few nuts to tighten and I was ready to get going. It managed my small lawn quite manfully. It was the first cut of the year so the grass was quite long. I had to push and pull it backwards and forwards a couple of times to literally plough it through the longer grass, but it really wasn't hard work. Once I was through with the longer grass, it literally glided through the shorter grass.

As far as I can tell this model is exactly the same as the 300 model, except that this one has a cutting edge of 38CM rather than 30CM. It seems pretty robust and well finished. The grass box seems a little flimsy compared to everything else, but it doesn't really have to do very much apart from sit there and collect grass. The grass seems to go everywhere a little and not always in the grass box, but no more than any mower I've ever owned. Height adjustment is flexible and just involves loosening a couple of bolts. Similarly if the cutting edge isn't quite "cutting it" you can tighten or loosen a bolt as required. The mechanism that drives the blades is very highly geared, and only a small push of the mower sends the blades spinning for several seconds after you've stopped pushing.

I found mowing my small lawn with this unit very satisfying. The grass was left very neatly "cut" and not "torn" like with my old Flymo. Based on my experience so far, I would describe this mower as a good quality product that is very practical for smaller lawns.

I absolutely love this lawnmower. I still have a petrol one in the garage but prefer this one. The reasons are simple.
It cuts better. it uses no power. It therefore has no ongoing running costs. Its green. It gives me a work out when using it. Its easier to get into awkward places. It stripes the grass as it has a roller.
You need some basic tools (spanner and screwdriver)to be able to adjust the cutting length and the cylinder against the blade, but once set its done for the season.
    Thoroughly recommend it.

Let's get straight to the point. This mower gave my lawn the best cut I've given any lawn in around 25 years. It is extremely light to manouvre and surprisingly, gets close to the edge (obscure reference for Yes fans)

I bought this product today from Homebase. Sorry Amazon but Homebase offer £10 off at the moment so it was a bargain at £39.93. Self assembly of the handles and grass collection box fittings took me about half-an-hour but then I'm not the brightest spark when it comes to DIY and following instructions. I reckon most of you would tackle this in half the time. I just found the pictures a bit small and would have benefited from a few more words but still, I got the job done. And I wasn't wearing my specs.

It's been a typical British Summer so far. Spring promised so much with virtually no rain and 24/7 sunshine. However, since the rain started again at the beginning of June - to coincide with Summer - the grass has gone crazy! It's been growing at a vast rate of knots and my 7 year old Flymo started coughing sparks and smoke last weekend so it was time to trade it in for something new.

I'm a bit sad when it comes to buying lawnmowers. I enjoy it. There's a vast choice out there. And I can take an age just staring at pictures on various websites, reading reviews and comparing prices. So it comes as a complete surprsie that I've ended up with a rather old fashioned yet eco-friendly wireless model requiring no more than a bit of bicep to get over the occasional bump in the lawn. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming.

The results are amazing. I've had various models in the Flymo range for the last 25 years. Yet there is nothing more satisfying than giving your lawn a proper cut.

This is a fantastic little machine, lightweight, simple, easy to store, and it cuts the grass nicely. After using a nightmare Flymo 380 Vision Compact electric hover, I thought I was in heaven when I used this for the first time. Ideal for small to medium sized lawns, I would'nt hesitate to use this on a larger lawn, as it cuts the grass just as quickly ( maybe even quicker) and efficiently as any powered lawn mower, as long you dont let the grass get too long. It copes with my Mole ploughed bumpy uneven lawn really well, as it has a 3 range setting, flat, average or bumpy. I will never go back to using a powered lawn mower again, as the jobs just so easy with this. Get one, I dont think you will regret it. I did'nt, despite my wifes scepticism. Five star rating on this one!

Read the reviews for this, and as they were so good, bought the mower
It cuts the grass well if the lawn is short, and there are no little twigs, large leaves etc on the lawn - if there are, this mower jams and stops - in my case the debris from trees makes mowing a very slow and annoying process.
The build quality is very poor - assembly instructions are dreadful, and I find that when mowing, the roller is constantly jumping out of place.
To change the height of the grass cut is not a quick process. You have to use a spanner to undo nuts and bolts to re-position the height. The spanner required is not supplied.
The grass 'catcher' is virtually useless, so you land up with a lawn covered with grass cuttings - with or without the 'catcher'.
Would not recommend to anyone unless you have a very small garden, with pristine lawn.
After spending £50 on this I am now going to have to buy another mower so that I can get the job done - which this mower just can not do.
    Very disappointed with this product
