For some reason there are no reviews of this item even though there are plenty for it's black counterpart. I suspect this might be due to department indexing as on my search this showed up as a garden and outdoors item Anyway, my main reason for inserting these few words is to highlight that there is a colour choice available and it is from the same supplier, with the same specification and similar price. Please see item and reviews at Quadro Black Wireless Weather Station I went for this silvery White one.

It really satisfies the gadget-freak in me and the remote sensor is a great bonus to this package which is only about three quid more than similar models lacking that feature. What impressed me most was that even the remote unit has an LCD readout of temp & humidity thus making it ideal for the greenhouse-gardener who would rather not venture out on cold dark nights to check that all is in order. The only problem I have with it is that it consistently reads up to 10% points higher than the base unit or my other, different model, hygrometer. It is appreciated that the designers have employed HP7 / AA batteries in both the base unit & the remote sensor. These have far greater capacity than coin-cells, are easier to obtain and are more economical. It should also be possible to use rechargeable NiMh batteries although I can not confirm how well they perform in this unit as I am still using the cells included in the pack.

Edit:- Downgraded due to continuing problem with inconsistent readings from the remote unit. I returned the first purchase for a replacement and this time the base unit shows inconsistent humidity reading! I returned that as well for refund.

This does what it's supposed to do, but if the most important thing for you is to see the temperature, then choose a different product. The time is the largest figure on the screen and I'm not really interested in that - I have clocks! The indoor and outdoor temperatures are small and difficult to see from any distance. It works well, though, and is very easy to set up.

I have been looking for a wireless weather station at a reasonable price for some time and have read loads of reviews. Most have as many bad reviews as good ones, this one however seemed to have more good ones than bad, (including the black one). Fist off mine is silver not white but not bothered about that. It took a few hours for the outside sensor to register a correct reading on the monitor and seems to be accurate so far, have had it going for about a week. Instructions were clear and easy to follow.
The only niggly minor annoyance is that some symbols on the display are not visible unless one is looking at it from a certain angle, notably the face and the battery strength signs but overall I am pleased with it. Potential buyers should be aware though that the outdoor sensor is not waterproof and needs some protection. I think that most of these outdoor sensors are like this but the manufacturers and distributors do not tell you this very often. It is ok if you want to put in a greenhouse to monitor temperature but no good in a shed if you need the outdoor temp because on a hot day the shed temp will be alot higher than the ambient air temp.

very poor quality. within a very short time the outdoor temperature is wildly out. now i put the sensor next to the weather station, there is 12 degree difference in temperature when they are sitting next to each other in the same room.

Had to return it as it kept loosing the external signal. The range on this isn't as good as it says so if you intend to put it more than 5m away you might have problems. Had to return mine as it was no good to me.

Decent enough in use, clear display. Setting it up with date/time/location is a little frustrating, as if you hesitate for more than three seconds it goes back to the beginning.

However, the biggest problem is battery life. I've had this less than two months, and already I'm on my third set of batteries. I can't see why this should need to be the case - it's LCD after all - but three weeks life from a set of alkaline batteries is just not good enough. It really ought to have been supplied with a mains adaptor, but since it has no way of connecting one it'll have to go in the bin instead.

Straight out of the box and working in minutes. No variation between outdoor and indoor sensors, clear instructions in English and no problem selecting English language for the days. The outdoor sensor is about 10m from the indoor unit with two 1m sandstone walls between them and all is well!! Great item, fabulous price. No complaints here!!

We bought this item as a gift for a relative as he liked our weather station and like us was always wondering what the weather might throw at us next. Unit seems to be very well made for the price and has quite a few features on it also seems quite good at alerting you of impending bad weather conditions. Once you buy one of these things you never seem to take yours eyes off it especially what the outdoor/indoor temperature is doing lol. On the whole i would recommend this to anyone with a bit of an interest in weather watching.
