2. Interval Timer (INTVL)
The Interval Timer can be set to any time period up to 100 hours as well. If you set it to 10 minutes, for example, one exposure will be taken every 10 minutes until either the film runs out or the Exposure Count limit has been reached.

3. BULB/Long Exposure (LONG)
It allows you to take time exposures up to 100 hours long.

4. Exposure Count (N)
This setting allows you to set the times of exposures that will be taken, up to a total 399 times. For example, if you set it to 30 times, then the exposure will be only taken 30 times.

I'm not sure what the other reviewer was doing but this device works perfectly with the D3100. Very easy to understand instructions for setting up and and an uncomplicated method which once done a couple of times is easy to remember. Works perfectly as a bulb trigger, even with no batteries inserted. Great value for money and a really useful bit of kit for the amateur photographer. Can't recommend enough.

This is an excellent item, I used it for the first time on a night shoot with a Nikon D7000 and was so impressed I had to buy another for my wife. It's very simple to use, will countdown in any increment from 99 hours downwards. It will also count up, so if you slide and lock in bulb mode it tells you how many seconds have elapsed. It has a red indicator and it bleeps to tell you it's taking a picture so you know exactly when it has finished

I bought this to go with my new Camera (D3100) as my old wireless one would not work, It works fine and is great for long exposure photos and timed startrail shots.
Highly recommend.

I now own three of these type of intervalometers. The brand name means little because they are all essentially the same unit, albeit with minor differences between them. I specifically use them with my Nikon bodies for timed exposures of the night sky, star trails etc. They also come in handy for tripping the exposure when I have my camera on a tracking mount for long exposure astrophotography.

The main reason I use these intervalometers is the ease of use. Anyone who has tried to program the built in interval timer on the Nikon series of bodies may well have torn out their hair in frustration at how difficult it is. Maybe it's just me, but I could never get the hang of it. I had another look at it again last week but it was still a job for Albert Einstein.

They feel a bit plasticy and I had to replace one after the metal sleeve on the GPS plug came off which resulted in the connection breaking. The three I've had since have been ok. If you want to do long exposure night photography or star trails this intervalometer is a must.

Cheap as chips and like chips it does the job. Works well as a remote control with my Nikon D7000. Not tried the timer part of this item yet.
