This is a really useful book on the history and development of Quimper pottery. It shows a far wider range of Quimper styles than I had previously known. It also claims to give information on values. This is not achieved, nor did I really expect it to be. For this, a more modern book with examples of styles and prices would be required.

An impressive and wide-ranging book on this popular type of pottery. It appears to be regarded as a classic in France. Plenty of interesting illustrations and an illuminating text.

Quimper First Visited 14 May 2007
By Mr. J. I. Mccubbine - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
As a more recent collector of Quimper I needed to purchase a good guide on the earlier and more expensive wares. I found the history of the origins, styles and values most interesting and useful. The book was well illustrated covering the various styles and the all important section on the Factory Marks complemented the volume at the end.

This book is quite detailed in the history of the Quimper factories and their owners as well as the region itself. Every page has multiple large color pictures and is quite enjoyable to look at. I would highly recommend it.
A comprehensive, authoritative and well organized guide to Quimper Pottery 17 Dec. 2007
By R. Degenhardt - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This book is a comprehensive and well-organized guide to Quimper Pottery -suitable for the serious collector as well as the beginner. The text is authoritative and readable, with an excellent index for ready reference. It is well-illustrated with color photographs which are instructive as well as beautiful. A glossary of terms, a time-line illustrating the development of Quimper faience, chapters on the artists as well as the manufacturers (and their marks)of Quimper, and a guide to factors affecting the value of pieces, are particularly useful. Highly recommended.
