2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 30 Jan 2009

The model looks attractive on the product shot, and it's cheap...but you might want to get out a ruler and imagine just how small this model is - at 14cm the answer is 'not big enough to be useful'.

The model claims to have 28 pieces, but most of those are pre-assembled into the basic torso into which the major organs slot. There are only about 10 pieces an enquiring child can play with. The head splits in half to show some internal workings, but once it is clicked into place on the torso it is very hard for a child to remove it and separate the two halves.

The model arrives with almost no explanatory literature - there is no 'answer' sheet as to how the organs fit, nor information about the organs.

It is difficult to see the target market: The model lacks the size and detail necessary to be useful to secondary school general science or biology students, and is not suited for smaller children.

5.0 out of 5 stars my kind of puzzle!, 16 April 2009

it's a nice small size, small size is quite handy-less space to take up-

there a enough piece to make it challenging - there are pieces that are prefit together - but they come apart too! they are just prefit just for selling it in the box!

those prefit pieces tho- putting them back together can be a bit of a challenge - especially for younger children, but also for adults! only because sometimes you have to put them in in a certain order, and the instructions, well, are just small pictures which apparently show how they fit together, but i can't quite work all of them out. we found it easier to work it out ourselves! but thats how normal puzzles work anyway.

my 5 year old son loves it so best not to necessarily rule out younger children! i think he's loved it since he was 3 or 4, and could do the organs then himself, and now he can do the bits that were prefit together when sold too.

our model had a small leaflet in with the instructions, it may have some small info about the body too, but my son had learned that from numerous other places too.

another human body model we have had flimsy connections so broke easily, so its good that these connections are secure, and can be used over and over again.

the other '4D' puzzles are excellent too -

one of our favourite puzzles - kept safe to try avoid losing parts.
