4.0 out of 5 stars A page turning pleasure. 25 May 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
A cracking page turner based in the world of American Football. The plot is well paced and the characters (mostly) believable. The end came a bit suddenly for me - almost like the author got fed up, but otherwise a good read. I would say that if you do not know the rules to American Football then about a quarter of the book will be meaningless!

3.0 out of 5 stars Crime or American football 29 Mar 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great crime murder book the story is intense but unfortunately I like to read thrillers not game tactics, towards the end the author lost me in the American football 1_2 second downs. I must admit, I skipped those chapters but the crime story is brilliant.

3.0 out of 5 stars Let's play football 14 April 2011
By Jorge Frid - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
If you like this ball game you'll like reading it. If you can stand it you can read it for the "thrilling" part but if you don't like the game at all just skip it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun sports mystery. 1 Dec 2010
By VCwino - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was a lot of fun. Great writing - it would appear that the author has been involved in sports management. The team is based in San Francisco. This mystery is based on the murder of the star quarterback from the perspective of the private eye hired to investigate the murder. The dialogue is irreverent, and lots of fun. The interesting relationship between the private eye and his young assistant is explained as the story develops. Sports fans and mystery readers will both enjoy this one. It has the makings of a fun series. There is even some steamy romance. I could see this as a popular movie.

1.0 out of 5 stars Could Have Been A Good Story, But Cheapened By Vulgar Dialogue 15 Mar 2012
By David C. Wile - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Every page of dialogue is simply filled with vulgar language by adults in the presence of a 12 year old kid. It added nothing to the story which could have been a fun mystery without the dumb vulgarities.

I also had a problem for a while figuring out the story of the football season was not part of the murder mystery itself. It almost seemed like there were two good stories here: the murder mystery and the thriller of a third string quarterback making an expected losing season into a championship season. I think both stories could have made good books in their own right.

I just wish the author would control his use of vulgar language. Most folks I know do not talk that way all the time. Besides being boring, it is distracting and unrealistic.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile.

only six weeks ago. It was supposed to be an SUV, but he’d negotiated with GM to upgrade to this baby with some advertising appearances. He’d even done a TV show when they handed over the car and gave him some driving pointers at Sears Point with a professional driver. The car had been sitting in a parking lot for the last month and was dirty. Tired from a day of driving, he took his foot off the gas and dropped down from 110 to 75. "e;
