5.0 out of 5 stars A lot of bang for the buck! 28 Oct 2013
I purchased these after having borrowed a pair from a friend for a week to try with my newly bought Marantz M-CR610 They were excellent - and so I picked-up a pair for myself.

I listen to a lot of radio and spoken word as well as a fairly varied range of post-60's music (all sorts of electronica, blues, 90's indie, hip-hop and reggae / ska). They can handle a fair bit of bass, they give nice clarity and are a good all-round range. They look good and are sturdily built.

If you have a bit more space than my 10 foot x 10 foot room in which I use them you might consider the next size up, but they are more than adequate for my requirements. They are not bi-wireable if that makes a difference to you (it doesn't to me).

I'm not a hi-fi expert of audiophile by any means, but for under £150 I would be surprised if I could have found anything better. I'm sure that these cost half of what I paid about 15 years ago for a pair of Maudant Short speakers and these sound like they are worth twice of what I paid for those! They are well worth an audition at your local stockist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding. 7 April 2012

I bought a pair of these for the surround from our new Pioneer VSX921. The results are simply outstanding. Beautifully understated design is matched by the superb sound - full bodied, yet pure and undistorted. These are a What HiFi best buy, and deservedly so.As surround speakers they're perfect, and they also come with foam plugs for the bass reflex cavity, in case they're too boomy when used as bookshelf speakers. We have them mounted on their own supports at angles to the wall, and the sound could not be bettered. Unreservedly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bookshelf Speakers 28 May 2012

I thought the speakers I had were pretty good, however after reading a review on the
Q acoustics 2010i speakers, with having and being pleased with an acoustics amplifier they must be worth a go. Not disapointed at all, they are well worth the 5star awarded to them. I find them just as clear at low sound as high. well done acoustics, Ron Pritchard

5.0 out of 5 stars Lives up to hype 17 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase
These little well built speakers are absurdly good and live up totally to expectations offering a level of detail and stability, particularly in the critical midrange, that you have no right to expect at this price. Driven by my Denon RCD37 they sound wonderful.

Words of caution: they need "running in"; out of the box they sounded harsh, shouty and almost out of phase. I was almost going to return them when the true sound kicked in. They are also dismissive, like all good equipment, of less than good sources - shows DAB radio for what it really is. Because of their price they could be partnered with kit that simply won't do them justice. Something like the Denon is probably essential.

Bearing that in mind - buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound! 15 Jan 2012
Verified Purchase
I bought these speakers because my wife got fed up with a pair of floor standing Linton speakers I'd built myself back in the 70's using Wharfedale kits. Although I'm loathed to get rid of the Lintons as I thought they would be a difficult act to follow for the Q-Acoustics I was very impressed. For their size they have plenty of bass response and the mid and treble range is good too. I would recommend these for anyone who wants smaller speakers and who's fussy about what goes in their ears as I am.

5.0 out of 5 stars best in class 29 April 2013
By Lanius

This series is well regarded by the HiFi press, and I think they are right. If you have space for bigger speakers then do go for bigger speakers, and be rewarded with more (and cleaner) bass. But on the shelves in my dining room this is about as big as I dared to go, and I can't believe there's anything to touch it at this size.

It's not going to work so well if hemmed in by books (like you should be able to do with a "bookshelf" speaker) because of the rear vent, but it doesn't need a whole lot of space behind it and around it to let the rear vent work without having to use the supplied foam bung to stop it down.

It short, these are superb. If you have a large room buy the Q2020i. At this price range you will not find better speakers. Very happy!

In the product details these speakers were stated as 20.3cm high when, in fact, they measure 23cm high and some. Decimal points people!!!
