This Pyrex round dish is made from borosilicate glass, a special blend of components, that is heated to very high temperatures and melted to form glass. Suitable for all types of cooking, it can withstand temperatures of 300 degrees and is microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher safe.

I researched all types of food storage possiblities that would also allow freezer, microwave, etc. These were the best. The pyrex allows you to keep anything in it without staining (unlike plastic which quickly smells and discolors)...and then also to heat it up in the microwave. The only downside of pyrex is that it is breakable. I've lost 1 of 3 to breakage in the past year. However, the pyrex on the other two is still faultless and the lids in excellent condition. I make sure to avoid microwaving with the lids (with anything acidic, eg., tomato based) to ensure they stay in top condition. They have no stains after 1 year. Have also used in the freezer, with excellent results.
The last reviewer marked with down 2 stars for not being square, which seems insane. I never found the circular shape affected my storage options that dramatically!

I originally bought one of these to take cereal to work. I also took along a carton of milk and ate straight from it when required. Had no problems with it but later decided I preferred to just use a bowl. I was too scared of this breaking in transit, although it never did. My partner however has now taken over use of it as an alternative to plastic, and uses it for foods mixed with yogurt. He thinks it's the best thing ever invented and wants another one.
This is a great dish! Easy to clean and the lid fits perfect! Its not very big but perfect for keeping smaller portions in the fridge / freezer! Pyrex so great quality! I have several Pyrex dishes with the plastic lid and they are so handy!

Because when I buy a food container that comes with a lid I expect it to be leak-proof which this certainly isn't. Use it for dry food only, or make sure you keep it flat.

wrong shape!
It is better to get the square version to optimise the use of space. But still a good design.
