These Pyrex glass casseroles are a must in any kitchen. They are versatile - they can be used both in the oven and in the microwave (but not over a bare flame!) and are dishwasher proof. They can be put in the fridge. They are neat in appearance and could be used for serving directly at table. During cooking their contents can be observed without taking the lid off, because they are transparent. Being made from toughened glass they are very durable - I have been using one in the kitchen for at least 30 years, and it is still in excellent condition. I use it almost every day. This is a good opportunity to secure a set of 3 different sizes at a bargain price, and I recommend them to anyone who is without them.

Chose to buy these casserole dishes as it's such a great bargain! From reading previous reviews, I was aware that the dishes may arrive chipped and thought the dishes can easily be returned! However, when I opened the box, there were bits of glass EVERYWHERE. One of the lids (the medium one) and the largest bowl are completely smashed! You would think they'd have more padding when sending this product around the country!

Have decided not to return it because:
1. it'll probably cost as much as the whole thing just to send this back
2. for that price, I won't feel bad buying another
3. the dishes and lids that are left are still usable (the lids are actually quite deep on their own)

Will be using one of the dishes tonight to make dinner. Am just hoping that the quality will be as good as I think it would be!

Arrived with a few chips in the lids - not packed very well for glass. however product was replaced and the next one arrived in tact.
