This pocket-size full colour guide covers car tours, walks and picnic in the entire range - France, Spain and Andorra. There are well over 400 kilometres (250 miles) of walks in this guide, the equivalent of a coast-to-coast traverse - one of the 'classics' for all serious walkers. But you don't have to be an expert walker for any of hikes we describe. None of them requires special skills (under summer conditions), and there are short walk suggestions with most of the itineraries). I have been using the Sunflower guides for many years, and without exception they are, for me, what makes or breaks a walking holiday .Landscapes of the Pyrenees goes right across the mountain chain starting near the Atlantic coast and ending on the shores of the Med. From lowly hills to lofty peaks this guide is a "must". For the central Pyrenees Luz St Sauveur is a good base and all of the walks are achievable by the reasonably fit. The absolute must do here is the Breche de Roland, but preferably when the snow has gone! The walks in Andorra are much harder, but it is a beautiful place away from the town.Each walk has its own detailed maps, grading system and intructions how to get there by car or public transport where possible.also included are wonderful car tours. To be absolutely recommended. How do they get so much into a book that fits in your pocket!

Pyrenees: Car Tours and Walks (Landscapes) We used this simple no nonsense guide to take us on a couple of fantastic walks last October. Without the book we would not have known where to begin. Simple, good directions, and timings just right. Best of all, no superfluous detail.

Hard to know how to rate this, I've been an avid user of Sunflower guides for years, my only complaint is that they tend to try and cover a too large a geographic area, and this one is the granddaddy of them all. From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean in 34 walks covering over 400km of mountains means the walks are spread a bit thin over the ground, so I think where this guide shines best is on a car tour along the length of the Pyrenees allowing you to sample the wonderful walks along the way. However if your holiday is going to be more centre specific then it is probably less useful and I would suggest you would be better off with one of the many guides concentrating on your particular area .
That said, the information, route descriptions, maps and insight are, as ever, up to their usual perfect standards.

Easy to use
We used the car tour section of this book and found it to be accurate and useful. We were able to discover out-of-the-way villages and stunning views. Recommended.
