Kurtz's 'PvP-Online' is one of the 'big hitters' on the webcomics scene and with its paper incarnation reaching issue 30, the irreverent cartoonist certainly has the success to go with his prestigious new accolade.

PvP Rides Again (v3) is a collection of the most recent paper comics, which contain every online strip and a few extra strips for the fans. The collection is an excellent mix covering several memorable story arcs and plenty of the classic gag-humour that has gotten Kurtz where he is today.

Along with the introduction of the briefly controversial "Scratch Fury: Destroyer of Worlds", the collection also contains the unofficially named "Comic Book Store Caper", a favourite for fans of Kurtz's sarcastic wit.

Overall the PvP collections are an excellent antidote to the trite and banal funnies-pages collections from many modern day strips. If you're new to PvP you may as well lump volumes 1 and 2 into your shopping basket - it'll save you time as 20 minutes after opening the book you'll be ordering them anyway.

I beat Tetris! Whoo! 7 April 2006

I've said it before (this would three times now on Amazon ;)) and I'll say it again: PvP is a wonderful comic strip! If you're an 80's child, gaming nerd, or even just a fan of well produced and genuinely funny comics...you should find a lot to like here. This is another wonderful collection of great strips. If you're followed the comic online, you may run into some storylines that you've gone through before. Personally, I think I've enjoyed reading through them again in the collected format more than I did getting the daily "zing!" comics (not to say that I don't still read it online...). This collection features some great in-jokes that comic book (I'm talking the guys and gals in tights who throw cars variety) and SciFi/Fantasy fans should really enjoy when the cast attempts to make the ultimate FAN FILM. Cat fans (especially those like my wife) will love Scratch Fury the cat.
