Thoroughly and perfectly spaced out artwork, fun plots, and some really memorable challenges. The style of it all reminds me of Tin Tin.

My only gripe against this wonderful series is the difficulty I have admittedly had in trying them properly this time around (against being a child and revelling in the artwork alone).

For a vast majority of the puzzles and challenges, I had to flick back and forth to the hints and even the answers to give me the much-needed context to support my understanding of what needed to be solved and how.

Example: Finding the best way to cross a bridge by viewing the 10 individual images and picking out the correct (in this case, least moronic) methods for doing so. The problem in solving this particular challenge was realising that the images were as a sequence of left-or-right (figuratively not literally) paths to take- Whereas, my initial belief was that the 10 pictures just shown together were to have the right answers picked from, not as a progessive choice puzzle.

All 3 books in this series are simply brilliant! Great for doing with the family, and I have found it equally as entertaining for adults as it is for children. Some of the puzzles can be difficult but clues are provided and it makes it all the more captivating, pulling you in and developing your mind into to a more investigative / inquisitive state.

I can't rate this book highly enough and just wish there was more in the series!

I loved these books as a child so I bought this omnibus collection to relive the fun! They are just as great this time around and haven't aged much at all!
The story lines are varied, the pictures are so detailed and the puzzles are great fun and varied (some of which are still quite tricky! I think I'm a bit out of practise!)
The omnibus includes one of my faves 'The ghost in the mirror' and many more, including some I've never done before.
Good value for money and not so heavy that you couldn't take it with you to keep the kids (or yourself) occupied on a train journey for example.
Brilliant!

Im 35 and had a few of these when I was a kid. Great retro factor and still good to read and solve the puzzles now. Cheaper than buying the books individually and a nice size for reading..my 5 year old son is enjoying them aswell..
They are just republished from the originals I had when I was a lad so they are just as I remember them.

I love this book. I now have all the books in this series and they are all excellent. I remember reading these as a teenager and I have bought them for when my two children are old enough. Even as an adult, these books are very entertaining.

My son enjoys puzzle books very much but this one is too small for the puzzles to be clear and interesting. He found the puzzles complicated and was bored quickly. I love Usborne books, but this one was a disappointment.
