Beyond Brilliant 5 Jun 2011
Format:MP3 Download
The original track is a brilliant slice of pure dance pop, but this single release elevates it to be so much more. With incredible remixes by Pete Hammond (80's bliss) and Basto plus a catchy new bonus track Silence, this is a must have. More even more fabulous remixes, check out: Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) (The Remixes)

Put Your Hands Up was always going to be a song that will spawn remixes. An interesting batch is presented here.

The Nervo mix is something unexpected. The mix turns the song into a very electronic club anthem...which is never a bad thing.

The Basto mix is interesting. The vocals are accompanied by strong piano notes throughout, creating a weird middle ground between classical instrumental and club music.

The Basto dub is heavier and is more toward a club sound...but the piano notes still remain, perhaps to even greater effect without the vocals.

The Bimbo Jones mix is unfortunately very gentle and downplayed. Bimbo Jones have created some really fascinating remixes in the past, but this feels like a simple, routine version that never really picks up.

Also included is the edit of the Pete Hammond mix. It is a throw-back to the Kylie sound of the 80's and is aglow with the vibrance of summer.

While none of these remixes match the punch of the original song, they present a large range of styles to choose from.

Interesting single 5 Jun 2011
Format:MP3 Download
Put Your Hands Up was a good choice for a single after it went down a storm on the tour.

The Pete Hammond Remix is a fun throw-back to the Kylie of the 80's. It has a real summer feel to it.

The Basto mix is interesting...the vocals are accompanied throughout by strong piano notes. This actually creates a weird middle ground between classical instrumental and club music.

The live performance of the song is good fun...although I have heard her perform it better. Sorry, Kylie.

Silence is a fun b-side song...it grows on you. It's very clear why the song didn't make the album...it's a gentle song and many of the tracks recorded for the Aphrodite album overshadow it.

I know I'll be back and forth on how I feel about this release, but I'm just glad we got a 4th single from Aphrodite. Thanks, Kylie. :)
