5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling Tale, 23 Nov 2007
One of those books you enjoy reading so much you don't want to put it down, yet you don't want to finish it too quickly either! Essentially a tale of love and destructive obsession seen through the eyes of a bullied gay schoolboy and how it affects him now whilst in his twenties, but told with great insight and humour. Highly recommended!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A haunting tale of unrequited love, 20 Jul 2009
By Daniel Park "danielpark99" (West Yorkshire, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a tale of unrequited love, bourne out of a history of distrust between a former bully and his victim. There's something so subtle, sorrowful and yet sweetly innocent about the second-guessing of Ben, who falteringly creeps towards a friendship and perhaps a relationship with a man who has haunted his conscious and subconscious thoughts for his entire adult life. I found myself deeply moved by these two characters, learning to live with each other's guilt, and then slowly growing apart. The final pages seem so banal, even commonplace and yet so heartbreaking with their "what ifs" that I found myself closing the book in tears.

1.0 out of 5 stars I feel sorry for the trees, 7 Mar 2008
By Nambour (London) - See all my reviews
I would recommend NOT buying this book a farcical piece of contrived tripe with a non realistic plot ... very disappointed
