Book Description

9 Feb 2005
The diary of a girl left in the London of Cromwell in the care of her drunken and debauched aunt and uncle. Unable to take their treatment any more she runs away and finds out that England under the Puritans is anything but pure! She falls into the hands of wealthy dominants who discover her talents and determine to profit from them. A brilliant evocation of the times and of their cruelty.

This is an intensely punitive example of the erotic chastisement genre, one in which the punishments are both severe and enjoyed by the two principal female characters. The book is presented as a diary written by one of these, Janet, who has the misfortune to be traded as a slave by a Royalist family whose main interest in life seems to be the enjoyment of cruel corporal ordeals perpetrated on the female slaves who come their way. This makes them popular amongst their friends, who all appear to share their enthusiasms. The novel is very static, with little happening apart from beatings and bondage, although there is one short episode in which escape is attempted. There is no real human interaction here, other than hate and cruelty, with a little unconvincing F/F coupling. I found it disappointing, but if you like your chastisements to be unvarying and relentless, this may be for you.
