Amazing how fresh trends in music continue to manifest itself. This is another one in its own rights, though you can compare it to a number of existing music and songs. Nevertheless Sandstones "Purging the past" carries it's own mark. It is metal true enough but at the same time somithing solidly unique, and it touches on your soul, all in all a great release, that I'm not getting tired listening to.
As to the musicianship - it is fine and powerful, just because it hasn't be weathered by years of experience in the business. Solidity builds from the rythm section which appears adamant and unwavering like Rock itself and when the guitarwork is fun to listen to, then the voice is simply unique. It might not be everybodys liking but for those who find meaning in hardrock, Sandstone can certainly open a door into a new level of experience.
These are young musicians - let's hope they can manage to keep their productive creativity aligned with each other -then we can hear more of great things from them.
