Format:Audio CD
This CD is one of a number I have bought from Charles and for me it ranks amongst the finest.
The Pure Sound of the Wind is simply as the title..one can imagine the scene as one likes..perhaps overlooking a valley or standing on a mountain top..However one chooses..the mood is atmospheric and somewhat sombre..which I love.
I use this CD for meditation and it is very different from the 'standard' meditation music that we often find.
Nature is raw and of power..this CD demonstrates the same and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature and her powerful energy.

I have several nature CDs (including the Thunderstorm version of this one) and this is my favourite. The volume is very loud- so it can drown out outside noise and the quality is very sharp and clear. It really does sound like the wind. It's louder in some parts and then it gets calmer in other parts and if you listen carefully at one point there's a really subtle hint of rain in the background. I find it more soothing than the Thunderstorm CD of its kind because it's more relaxing to listen to. Helps me get to sleep everytime. The only thing I would say is that I wish it were longer- maybe 30-40 minutes more. Although 1 hour is still good enough.

I love the sound of the wind howling outside my window, whilst I'm safely tucked up indoors, nice and warm.
I am currently doing an Open University degree and find that the constant traffic noise can be a bit off putting some days, but this CD blocks out a lot of that, helping me to concentrate on my studies.
I have also found another use for this disk, I listen to it when my tinnitus is particularly loud as it seems to be just the right pitch to cancel out the buzzing.
It's an all round brilliant noise cancelling disk, highly recommended to anyone who suffers from tinnitus or is studying at home.

Mono recording
This CD seems to have been recorded in mono, so it isn't particularly realistic for playing back on your stereo hi-fi!
