4.0 out of 5 stars Useful Addition to my ONE 27 July 2006
By Ant
I have had my Pure ONE radio for nearly two months now - its excellent (see my review). I think the chargePAK is a bit on the expensive side (otherwise I'd give it five stars) but, by golly, it does the job.

It slots into the battery bay, a slightly fiddly little plug connects it to the radio and off you go. An initial charge is recommended for 24 hours, and then the radio can be plugged and unplugged from the mains as you like - it automatically moves onto ChargePAK power as necessary, or starts recharging when you plug it back into the mains. I think its great - I usually have the radio plugged into mains in my office where I do most of my listening, but I can just pull out the jack plug and carry the radio into the garden or the kitchen and the sound just follows me around.

What can I say - it works!

UPDATE - Some Time Later

Oh Dear. This did NOT live up to its promise. I discovered after a few months that it didnt hold its charge for more than an hour - If I was lucky. I originally gave this four stars - now I want it to be one or none. Not sure if I can change the stars. Radio is great though!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent addition to The ONE 19 Jan 2007
I love my PURE ONE and this chargepack really is useful to 'free' the device up and not eat up batteries.

It is quite expensive but for functionality and long term cost-savings on batteries it's really neat.

I trialed the charge time on the ONE today and got 14hrs of continuous play on a full charge at moderate volume.

My only complaint was that it is a bit of a struggle to site the radio in it's compartment but I suppose it only has to be done once!!

I already have a charge pack(the original version) for my Evoke2XT and have always been pleased with that as well

2.0 out of 5 stars faulty! 23 Aug 2006
I have owned the chargepak for about a month and up to now it's worked well allowing me to move around the house with the radio and no need for plugging in. The chargepak gets very hot but this is normal according to Pure. However, today I was listening on battery which was fully charged and the radio stopped working after 20 minutes. On opening the battery cover I discovered the battery almost too hot to touch and it had leaked all over the compartment! I'm hoping this is just a one off failure as otherwise I've been very happy with Pure products.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dear but worth it!
Have had the battery pack for over a year now and have had no problems. Need to charge it perhaps every two - three weeks and it's used every day.
Well worth the initial cost.
