By Chris Hall TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
Released back on the 12th May 1997, the 3 Colours Red debut album “Pure” was brought out through Creation Records. The album contained fourteen tracks, five of which were released as singles. The heavy and thick album inlay contains all of the tracks' lyrics along with appropriate artwork.

From the start, the album delivers a very British rock of the ‘90s sound. With strong influences from the likes of The Wildhearts (guitarist Chris McCormack being Danny McCormack's brother), Senseless Things (drummer Keith’s old band), AP&S, Cecil and Honeycrack, the band have put together a well-produced, well-written, rock ‘n’ roll triumph of an album. Packed with killer tracks, the four-piece play a mature mixture of pop/punk/rock tracks with meaty riffs and addictive melodies running throughout. Vocalist Pete Vuckovic delivers some gritty vocals that work perfectly with the layered tower of chunky guitars.

All in all, the album is a fantastic debut album from the British rockers. Well, well worth getting you hands on.

What an album indeed. From start - Pure - to finish - Aniseed - this is an absolutely fantastic album... one of the best of all time, without question!

MY OWN GAUGE!!! 7 Nov 2010
Format:Audio CD
3 colours red are blast from the past for me. Another band I used to listen to during my teenage years, and what a band they were. As well as being fantastic live, they also cut a brilliant album like this! This is punk rock how it should be! Hard rocking, catchy and downright ridiculously good! As the opening momentum of 'pure' builds up into its final full on rush, and then 'this is my hollywood' unleashes its declaration of intent, this album is just bloody ruthless in its ability to give out the thrills. Just check out 'nuclear holiday', 'sixty mile smile', 'hate slick', 'alright ma!', 'nerve gas' or any of the other tracks! This album is for young punks sick of the self centered 'emu' scene and for older punks looking for something new, but no less rocking. Even if your not big on punk music, i am sure you will love the songs on this album for their sencerity and bloody good funness! (is that a word? don't know/care!)

Listened to this album when i was 14 and it's just as good now as it was then. Timeless songs that get better the more you listen to them. 10/10

Excellent
This is great stuff. For a band that would go onto to release an average second album, split and then reform in 2002, the debut was pure excellent. Read more

Pure class.
You know how some albums just have a certain something, a sheer energy about them, a raw feel that's difficult to find and even harder to pinpoint? Read more

What an excellent album!
This is an excellent album, full of heavy, thumping guitar music whilst remaining (mostly) melodic. From the opening bass riff of 'Pure', the excellent 'This is my Hollywood' and... Read more

An excellent debut album that should have done much better.
This album is a couple of years old now and the band themselves have split up,which is a great pity. Read more
