Excellent performances of Purcell choral works. For a two-cd compilation at a rock-bottom price, this is very good value for money. Delivery was prompt.

Henry Purcell died tragically young, and one can only wonder at what he would have given the world, had he lived longer. What he did leave is a heritage of splendid music with, as it seems to me, its head held high. I have always found his marvellous Te Deum to be especially moving, more so than any other I've heard - Purcell seems to have married the (English) words with the music especially well. The other pieces on the CD are equally enjoyable, the singing and playing is top-class, as is the recording quality. A very worthwhile purchase.

Very good, well recorded, very well sung and played.
Not expensive either.
The Christ Church Cathedral Choir Oxford never seems to disappoint.
If you don't like Purcell, you might like these two cd's for the price
of one (superbargain) anyway.The cd offers a good and enjoyable selection from his
religious music.
The soloists also are very good.
