Book Description

26 Nov 2009

Liam Creed seemed like a lost cause. He was excluded from school more times than he can remember, his outbursts got him into trouble, he faced a constant struggle with medication, and his family were driven to despair. All because he was born with an inability to sit still and concentrate: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Liam thought his life was destined for failure. Until, one life-changing day, he met a mischievous bundle of energy called Aero.

Aero and Liam developed a special bond. As Liam struggled to train the mischievous dog, for once he didn't feel useless and afflicted. Against the odds, Liam made an inspirational breakthrough in his own condition and learned to believe in the future.

Liam's book is a great read and says loads about the human/dog bond and connection. So glad Liam had the oppurtunity to experience, at first hand how Canine Partners train their dogs and enable him to turn his life around. I have always admired their work with disabled people and helping kids too along the way is very admirable! Shame the charity do not get any profits from Liam's book or Endal though but hear there are more life changing stories out soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eye Opener 11 Aug 2010

I got this book because of my interest in training dogs into assistance roles. What I learned about ADHD was truly fantastic. The correlation Liam makes between training dogs and handling himself as an ADHD sufferer is really great. Worth reading.

"A Puppy Called Aero" is a brilliantly written book. Liam has a great style of writing that makes his book easy to read. This is a great insight into the problems of ADHD sufferers and their relatives and friends. It is inspirational for those with ADHD and those who care for, or work with ADHD sufferers. I am sure it will help them to read this book.
This is a must for dog lovers too - another amazing true-life account of what a dog can do for a human.
